Never
fight a fire unless:
- You call the
fire department first. An extinguisher is no substitute for the fire department.
- Building has
been evacuated.
- You are properly
trained in fire extinguisher use.
- You are confident
you can put out the fire.
- The fire is
small and not spreading. A fire can double in size every two or three minutes.
- You can fight
the fire with your back toward an escape route.
